From a humble kitchen in Sri Lanka to homes around the world, MA's Kitchen has been crafting flavourful moments for over four decades. Founded in 1984 as MA's Tropical Food Processing Pvt Ltd, we began with a vision to bring authentic Sri Lankan flavours to the world – and do it the right way. With every product we make, we stand for quality, honesty, and the joy of good food.

1985 Our story Begins

A dream takes root

In a ca.Dambulla, a passionate young couple who had been running a small backpacker lodge, fused on nourishing t.Malirange. Their vision was not just to serve flavourful food, but to do it with authenticity & quality in mind – sourcing fr cal farmers and producers. With simple jars, local spices, and a deep-rooted belief in community – they launched MA's Tropical l Processing Co. Soon, they were not just feeding travellers, but began producing preserves, pickles, chutneys, pastes, and caring for employees and building lifelong relationships – they planted MA's Tropical Food Processing Pvt Ltd, then rooted in better life authentic taste of home of flavours and dreams they planted in Sri Lanka's heartland.

MA's Kitchen made history as the very first company in Sri Lanka to receive the prestigious SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification. This prestigious third-party validation confirmed what we already knew: our commitment to exceptional quality was unmatched. It was a proud moment that validated our dedication to excellence.

We launched our expanding range of Organic Certified Products, marking a significant evolution in our sustainability journey. Our dedicated team worked together with farmers to achieve organic certification, harmonizing processes that would benefit both our customers and: the environment.

The acquisition of our Pineapples facility in the Welimada area brought us one step closer t our goal of offering truly organic tropical fruits & nuts to local and international market. Formerly specializing in premium coconut fruits, The acquisition allowed thoroughly compliant our food our for authentic Asian offering of organic tropical fruits and nuts.

2013 Healing Through Food

North Lanka Family Foods & Post-War Recovery

Following the end of the civil war in 2009, North Lanka needed rebuilding and hope. In 2013, we embraced our role in the the Northern Province. Taking over a closed dairy project in Kilinochchi, we worked directly with rural farmers to rebuild disrupted agricultural industries like dairy local & seasonally, creating flavour-packed chutneys produce. This product line offered fair incomes to post-war farming communities, while offering ready authentic exotic sesame, and peanuts from small-scale regional farmers. This marks the start of a decade of accelerated growth.

2014 Ethical Excellence Recognized

FLOCERT Fair Trade Certification

Our longstanding commitment to ethical partnerships with customers received official recognition through FLOCERT Fair Trade certification. This achievement formalized customer with certified assurance all our ethical practices and reinforced our dedication to fair partnerships with farming communities.

2017 Expanding Horizons

Dambulla Factory Transformation

During our most ambitious decade of growth, we doubled the capacity of our beloved Dambulla factory through a major expansion and refurbishment. Designed with cutting-edge functionality and innovation features, this modernized facility enabled our team to scale production for the future.

2018 Mastering Meat

Pepper Valley: Premium Products

The Pepper Valley brand was born in Matale, bringing MA's Kitchen's unmatched flavour expertise to premium specialty meat products. This expansion demonstrated our versatility and commitment to capturing our authentic bold tastes across diverse product categories, setting a new standard for quality premium meats.

2021 Artisanal Innovation

Handcrafted Cheese Excellence

North Lanka ventured into artisanal cheese production, combining Dutch training techniques with Sri Lankan traditions. Our specialized aging facilities enabled us to provide handcrafted cheeses that rival international standards, while supporting local dairy farmers and preserving traditional cheese-making techniques. Meanwhile to our Matale site, the start of the international standard cheese age.
